Description

The new wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) will serve more than 17,000 inhabitants of the Nerva-Riotinto region in Huelva.
The towns of Riotinto, Nerva, El Campillo, and the districts of Zalamea la Real de Las Delgadas and Montesorromero, located in the northeastern strip of the province of Huelva, did not have a wastewater treatment system. However, Community Directive 91/271 / EEC, on the treatment of urban wastewater, establishes deadlines to provide certain populations of collector systems and appropriate treatments to achieve adequate quality parameters in the discharge to channels. In this context, the bidding of works carried out by the Board and that will allow service to the area is framed.
The wastewater treatment station must treat 4,722 m3 / day of wastewater as well as its resulting sludge. To this end, a Prolonged Aeration treatment system is designed for an equivalent population in the horizon year of 17,313 inhabitants. The action consists of the grouping of discharges from the mentioned locations and the construction of a wastewater treatment plant. In total it has 7 pumping stations and collects 19 discharge points.
